Future ePortfolio Development
The ePortfolio is constantly being developed
and improved to meet the needs of users, the requirements of
Workplace Based Assessment (WPBA) as it develops and to remove
‘bugs’ from the system.
The following is an outline of planned work on the ePortfolio for
the current year. Please note that it is only a guide, and that
items may be added, removed or delayed depending on how the
schedule of work progresses throughout the year. Urgent fixes
or changes required as a result of external factors (such as
changes to Gold Guide requirements, PMETB policy decisions, etc)
may take precedence over and above other development items.
Version 5.0 – Planned release date - early August
2010
It was agreed last year that major changes to
the ePortfolio will only be introduced at the start of a new ST
year, ie, in August. Version 5.0 will be the next major update, and
will be released in early August 2010.
For Version 5.0, the main focus is an updated
Educational Supervisors Report that is easier to follow and will
help Educational Supervisors and ARCP Panels make more informed
decisions.
The list of work for Version 5.0 is still very
much a work in progress, but at the moment we are planning to
address the following:
- New Educational Supervisors Report (ESR)
- Update look of ePortfolio - This is to bring the
ePortfolio more into line with the look and feel of the RCGP
website. This cleaner look will also have better scalability for
different resolutions. We are also redesigning some sections to
remove the current effect of long thin text boxes.
- Improved messaging system
- Slightly revamped and clearer Declarations system
- Improved validation system for learning log entries and updated
Competence Mapping to assessments
- Additional Trainee Download options
- Ability for Deaneries to import new post information into the
ePortfolio
- Improved functionality for Deanery Administrators/ARCP Panels.
The ARCP changes should be in place for the end of year ARCPs in
June/July. Details of these will be released in late
Spring.
This webpage will be reviewed and updated
regularly, and we will continue to publish pre-release notes on the
website well in advance of each release.
