The Condensed Curriculum
Guide [book]
This 300-page book is the official companion to the new RCGP
curriculum, covering the knowledge, skills and attitudes that every
GP specialty registrar must master. The book summarises each of the
32 curriculum statements and contains a checklist of the key
knowledge and skills required for each area of general practice. It
also explains how to successfully prepare for the MRGGP, providing
information on how the new assessments work, and gives practical
advice on how candidates can best prepare. It includes useful
sources of information, further resources, and tips on learning
general practice in everyday practice situations.

The
RCGP Curriculum Map [website]
Online navigable website containing the RCGP
curriculum, with links to over 850 educational resources. Each part
of the curriculum is mapped to ‘signposted’ educational resources
that are suitable for learning or teaching general practice. The
curriculum map is an ongoing project and more resources are being
added as they become available.

A Guide to the Clinical Skills Assessment [DVD
and workbook]
Developed to give candidates an idea of what
to expect in the Clinical Skills Assessment (CSA) of the MRCGP
(MRCGP) examination. Consists of 12 cases chosen to reflect a
spectrum of encounters between GP and patient and a workbook with
examiners’ comments.

WPBA
A Guide to the COT of Workplace Based
Assessment [DVD and workbook]
The aim of this guide is to help candidates
prepare for the COT assessment, understand the COT's 'performance
criteria', and enable registrars to provide the evidence that
trainers require when making their judgements. This DVD and
handbook are designed to offer practical guidance to registrars and
their trainers who must create and adjudge COTs. It advises on how
the consultation is assessed, details the performance criteria, and
analyses each consultation on the DVD with practical advice for
each, based on the performance criteria.

Talking the
Talk: using Case-based Discussion in medical
assessments [DVD and workbook]
This DVD and workbook package explains CbD in
detail so that assessors will be able to develop the skills
necessary to conduct confident, reliable and fair CbDs. *NB: This
resource is aimed predominantly at GP Educators although it may be
of interest to GP Specialty Registrars.

On-line multiple choice questions on a range
of useful subjects. Please note that these are not based on the AKT
format but are designed to assist GPs in identifying their own

AKT resources – resources to
support doctors preparing for the AKT component of the MRCGP.
Curriculum for General Practice
series – a series of textbooks aimed at GPs in
training covering important aspects of the GP curriculum. Books due
for publication in the next 6 months include books on respiratory
problems, management in primary care, chronic diseases, and
dermatology.
Guide to the nMRCGP for GP
Trainers – a book on the MRCGP assessments aimed at GP
Trainers, including how to guide trainees successfully through the
work-place based assessment.
Journal for AiTs – an
educational journal for RCGP Associates in Training. This will
contain articles about important topics covered in the curriculum
and assessed in the MRCGP.
e-GP : Being a General
Practitioner - RCGP/e-Learning for Healthcare
e-learning project. An ambitious web-based project to develop a
comprehensive series of e-learning modules for doctors learning the
GP curriculum, and to support qualified GPs undertaking continuing
professional development.
